Week 2 in Touch Tackle

This past Sunday we faced 5 Star Carting.  This team was coming off a 48-0 win in the previous week.  We needed to be at the top of our game, and unfortunately for the second straight week we weren't.  Our team got out to an early lead after 3 straight botched snaps by the opponent that ended in a safety.  Our team didn't capitalize on the possession, and on the next drive they scored a touchdown that put them out 8-2.  At the end of the half, our quarterback Nick Beltrani, had a pass deflect off one of our receivers and was intercepted.  The turnover resulted in a touchdown in the final minute that put them ahead 14-2.  In the second half our offense was moving the ball, and our defense was looking a lot better than what we were in the final 2 minutes of the first half.  Unfortunately our team struggled in the red zone for the second straight week.  A couple of bad snaps that killed our drives, and our momentum.  A promising start turned into an ugly finish for our team.  We were a lot better on special teams this week, and the defense played well outside of the 2 minutes in the second quarter.  Our offense seems to be getting into shape as well, we just need to keep from getting bad snaps in the red zone that end our drives.  Our team is still in search for our first win as we take on Inches-a-Weigh at 8:30 January 27th, at Green Belt park.

This is our first time around but I feel like we are pretty close to making things right and getting on the roll we need to be on to bring the team where it should be.  There is a long way to go in our season and we still feel we have a shot, now all we have to do it take care of business.
